Planking Method
Planking is a simple and flavourful way to elevate your grilling. Cooking on a wooden plank infuses food with rich, smoky notes and creates an unforgettable presentation — a sure way to impress your guests.
The heat from the grill causes the soaked plank to smolder gently, releasing aromatic smoke that naturally seasons your food with that signature Broil King® grilled flavour.
How to Plank Grill
- Soak the plank in water for at least 1 hour, then pat dry.
- Preheat the grill on HIGH for 10 minutes.
- Brush both sides of the plank with olive oil, then place your seasoned meat, fish, or vegetables on top.
- Set the plank on the grill directly over a lit burner and reduce the heat to MEDIUM–LOW.
- Grill until done, allowing the gentle smoke to infuse your food with deep, wood-fired flavour.
Pro Tip: Try different plank woods — such as cedar, maple, or cherry — for unique flavour profiles that complement various meats and seafood.
